Welcome Parents!
ELAC, or the English Learner Advisory Committee, includes parents and key decision-makers at Mountain Empire High School. This committee provides a valuable opportunity for families to share their ideas and stay informed about all aspects of English language acquisition at our school. ELAC meets throughout the year to address important topics.
During the Meetings We Will:
  • Review and discuss the school plan with the principal.
  • Identify the needs of our students and programs for success.
  • Elect a DELAC representative to attend monthly district meetings (DELAC stands for the District English Language Advisory Committee).
  • Learn about the importance of school attendance and effective strategies for student success.
The ELAC is responsible for advising the principal and staff on programs and services for English learners, as well as assisting the School Site Council in the development of the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA).
Benefits of Parent Participation:
  • Support your student’s education on their path to becoming biliterate.
  • Familiarize yourself with the school campus and leadership team.
  • Gain insights into how the educational system operates.
  • Develop your leadership skills.
