Information and Instructions

Applications are due and must be received by:  April 10th, 2019

California Association of Administrators of State and Federal Education Programs (CAASFEP) honors past presidents, Ron Fontaine and Elizabeth Pinkerton, for their lifelong dedication to the education of students by awarding four $2,500 scholarships to graduating seniors. 

 One of the recipients of the CAASFEP scholarship will be recommended to compete for a National Association of Federal Education Program Administrators (NAFEPA) Scholarship.



The purpose of the scholarship program is to financially support post-secondary education for qualifying seniors who are attending their first year of college.


An eligible student must:

·         Be a high school senior who plans to enroll in an accredited college or university.

·         Have demonstrated leadership in school or community activities

·         Have an overall academic record of 3.0 G.P.A. or above on a 4.0 scale

·         Demonstrated financial need

·         Be sponsored by a current member of CAASFEP

Selection Process

Scholarship winners will be selected based upon the following areas of equal point value:

·         Current High school transcript (20 points)

·         Extracurricular activities/leadership activities within the school or, community (20 points)

·         Three letters of recommendation, including at least one letter from a principal and one from faculty member or advisor (20 points)

·         Financial need (20 points)

·         A 300 word (maximum) essay outlining his/her leadership activities and future goals (20 points)

Scholarship Payment

The full amount of scholarships will be paid directly to an institution of higher education after scholarship recipients forward the necessary scholarship payment information from the institutions they are attending to the CAASFEP Scholarship Chair.

  • Applicant must have a parent, grandparent, and/or an immediate family member who is an East County Schools Federal Credit Union member-owner

  • Selection will be based on character, merit, and campus/community activities

OZ Foundation Application 2019-2020

Oz Foundation is a family organization that has funded the college education of students from low-income backgrounds. The ideal candidate is someone who is presently attending high school or college and has demonstrated that he or she is capable of college/university work but does not have the financial resources to attend college. If accepted, recipients must maintain a 2.5 GPA per term and complete at least 12 units each quarter/semester while attending college to remain eligible. After you have been accepted to an accredited FOUR YEAR college/university, have applied for financial aid, and received the response to your request for financial aid, please fill out this application and mail it no later than May 21, 2019

WHAT IS THE IMAGINE AMERICA SCHOLARSHIP? The Imagine America High School Scholarship is an award-winning scholarship program offered by the Imagine America Foundation. The scholarship is for high school seniors or recent graduates planning to attend a career school participating in the Imagine America High School Scholarship Program. (Participating career schools are listed at 

WHO CAN APPLY? Anyone who has graduated or will graduate from high school between January 1, 2019 and December 31, 2019 and plans to attend a career school participating in the Imagine America High School Scholarship Program.

This program contains six tasks that will aid students in their college pursuit process.  Complete all six tasks and you're eligible to earn $40,000. Scholarships will be awarded through monthly drawings to students who complete each action.  For more information and to get started visit:

Scholarship Opportunity for student-caregivers

Two scholarships of $1,500 are awarded each year to student-caregivers to help cover costs of tuition and books. Applicants must be full-time college students at an accredited two-or-four-year college or university in the United States, or full-time high school students who are registered to attend a qualifying institution the following semester.

Some basic guidelines and restrictions about the scholarship include the following:

  • Students can attend or plan to attend any college or graduate school in the United States, but they must be a first-year student at that college to be eligible.
  • As proof of the student’s first-year status, they will need to submit a digital copy of their acceptance letter in PDF or image format.
